E Bike Port ( Charging Station )
E Bike Port is a FREE charging station for your electric cycle and other gadgets. These units are built by a new start company up in France.
The company has built units in various French departments including one in the Doubs (Photo
Nicolas Lecloux). They will be available in universities, towns, enterprises and shopping centres. I have asked the company if there is a map available.
Each unit is self contained, with power supplied by solar panels on the roof. Within the unit there is a secure locker to store your items while charging and a bike rack to secure your bikes.
The units are protected by video surveillance and there is access to a Wi-Fi hotspot and defibrillator. Added to the side panel is an LCD Information point with local weather, events and places of interest.
There are 4 - E Bike Ports now in use with more in the production, I have created a map (beta)of there approximate location while I await the exact GPS location.
I have not used E bike Port, but will visit one near me soon, In my opinion this is a useful addition
which will benefit the cycling community.
