Voie Bresse jurassienne

The Voie de la Bresse Jurassienne will eventually connect the two largest towns of the Jura, Lons-le-Saunier and Dole.

When completed it will join with the Voir Bressane giving an alternitive route to the EV6 between Chalon sur Saone and Dole.

Over 53 kilometers, this cycle route follows an old railway line through Bresse Jurassienne and the Plaine du Finage.

The first part of the route connects Tavaux (Junction EV6) and Chaussin, and is 10.6 km long traveling through the  lower Doubs valley.

The middle section between Chaussin and Chaumergy which is 20 km long is still in the planning stage, but it was announced this month that this section should be open in the final quarter of 2022.  You can still follow the route on gravel tracks and minor roads using cycle.travel.

The third section of 10 km from Chaumergy to Bletterans is again tarmac surface.

In this part of the Jura there are many small ponds with abundance of wildlife and Fauna.

If just passing or planning to stop for a few nights, we recommend visiting a Comte Chesse Shop you will not be disappointed.
