Chemin du Train
The 21 km Voie Verte Chemin du Train follows the old train route from Gilley to Pontarlier following the river Doubs next to the Swiss boarder.
In the first few km there is an exercise parcour and some wonderful wooden sculptures.
Yours eyes will soon be exercising as you head down to near the river Doubs and its magnificent valley edged with Swiss mountains, lush green farm pastures and mixed woodland.
The sound of birds and the waft of the local sausage smoking houses will satisfy your other senses as you head for Pontarlier.
Discover the history of the last distillery of Pontarlier, the former world capital of Absinthe, through the four generations of the GUY family.
