La Voie des Salines
The Voie des Salins starts at the Village of Ranchot on the route Euro Velo 6 and heads south though the Forét de Chaux, one of the largest forests in France. As you exit the forest you will discover the Royal Salt Work at Arc et Senans. Constructed by Louis XIV to produce wood for the Navy.
Continuing south you follow the River Doubs, then rejoin the new part of the Voie to the town of Salins les Bain, guarded by two hill top forts.
