The voie vert is a tarmacked cycle way built on an old railway line that linked Lure and Pont sur l'Ognon in the Department Haute Saône.
The voie vert which was finished in 2019 follows the valley of VALLÉE DE L'OGNON for 24km.
Work continues to extend the route toward the town of Montbozon, where the Voir Vert Lure will join the
Chemin Vert just after the town.
Forges Pont sur l'Ognon
In 1822, Samuel Blum and his son, forge masters in Magny-Vernois, acquired the set of mills at Pont-sur-l'Ognon for 19,000 francs, consisting of four corn mills, two plaster mills, a fuller , an oil mill and a sawmill. The family were also given permission to built steel furnaces.
The forge saw the first official tests of the hydraulic turbine invented by Benoît Fourneyron to power the foundry, which uses Gémonval coal for melting metals.
The foundry continued production until it closed in 1923.
